1Doesn’t wisdom cry out? Doesn’t understanding raise her voice?
1 Laakal mana ce no? Fahamay mana nga jinda tunandi bo?
2On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.
2 Batamey ra da fondey bindo ra da fondey kubayyaŋ do a go ga kay.
3Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:
3 Da meyey gaa, nangey kaŋ borey ga furo kwaara ra, Da furoyaŋ meyey do, a go ga jinde sambu ka ne:
4“To you men, I call! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.
4 «Ya araŋ alborey, araŋ no ay go ga ce. Ay jinda mo go ga koy Adam-izey do haray.
5You simple, understand prudence. You fools, be of an understanding heart.
5 Araŋ kaŋ sinda carmay, wa faham da laakal. Araŋ mo, saamey, wa goro nda bine kaŋ ga faham.
6Hear, for I will speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for right things.
6 Wa hanga jeeri ay se, Zama ay ga muraaduyaŋ kaŋ gonda beeray salaŋ. Ay meyo feeriyaŋ ya hari kaŋ ga saba no.
7For my mouth speaks truth. Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
7 Zama ay meyo ga cimi ci, Laala mo fanta hari no ay deena se.
8All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.
8 Ay me sanney kulu, adilitaray ra no i go, Haŋ kaŋ ga siiri si no i ra, wala haŋ kaŋ si saba.
9They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.
9 Taray kwaaray no i go boro kaŋ ga faham se, I ga saba mo borey kaŋ ga du bayray se.
10Receive my instruction rather than silver; knowledge rather than choice gold.
10 M'ay dondonandiyaŋey ta, manti nzarfu. Ma bayray ta ka bisa wura suubanante.
11For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.
11 Zama laakal boori nda tondi hiir'ize caadante yaŋ. Hay kulu kaŋ boro ga ba si kar a gaa.
12“I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling. Find out knowledge and discretion.
12 Ay, Laakal, ay na haggoyyaŋ ciya ay nangoray. Ay du bayray da laakal kaŋ ga haggoy.
13The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.
13 Rabbi humburkumay ga ti boro ma konna ilaalo. Boŋbeeray da fooma nda fondo laalo da me-ka-say, ay ga konn'ey.
14Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.
14 Saaware ya ay wane no, da laakal hanno. Ay ya fahamay no, ay gonda hina.
15By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
15 Ay do no bonkooney ga may, Mayraykoyey mo ga ciiti dumbu.
16By me princes rule; nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.
16 Ay do no jine borey ga may, Ngey nda laabukoy kayney mo, Kaŋ yaŋ ga ti laabo cimi-ciiti-teekoy kulu.
17I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.
17 Ay ga ba ay baakoy, Borey kaŋ yaŋ g'ay ceeci nda himma mo ga du ay.
18With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.
18 Duure nda beeray go ay banda, Oho, da arzaka kaŋ ga duumi da adilitaray mo.
19My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold; my yield than choice silver.
19 Ay nafa ga bisa wura, Oho, a bisa wura hansante. Ay riiba mo bisa nzarfu suubanante.
20I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice;
20 Ay ga dira adilitaray fondey ra da cimi ciiti laawaley bindo ra.
21That I may give wealth to those who love me. I fill their treasuries.
21 Zama borey kaŋ yaŋ ga ba ay, Ay ma naŋ i ma duure tubu, Ay m'i jisiri nangey toonandi.
22“Yahweh possessed me in the beginning of his work, before his deeds of old.
22 Ay ya Rabbi wane no za a muraadey mana sintin, Za a goy sintinayey jine, doŋ waney.
23I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed.
23 Za zamana kaŋ ga duumi jine, za sintina, Za ndunnya mana baa te no i n'ay sinji.
24When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water.
24 Za guusuyaŋey si no i n'ay fattandi, Za hari-moy kaŋ yaŋ harey ga baa si no.
25Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was brought forth;
25 Za tondey mana sinji, Za tudey jine no i n'ay fattandi.
26while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
26 Za a mana laabo da saajey te jina, Za a mana laabu baano sintina te ndunnya ra.
27When he established the heavens, I was there; when he set a circle on the surface of the deep,
27 Alwaato kaŋ a na beeney soola, ay go no. Saaya kaŋ a na teeko moyduma windi sanda korbay cine.
28when he established the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong,
28 Saaya kaŋ a na beene batama gaabandi, Saaya kaŋ guusuyaŋey hari-moy te gaabi.
29when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth;
29 Saaya kaŋ a na teeko hirro daŋ a se, Zama haro ma si a lordo daaru, Alwaato kaŋ a na ndunnya sinjiyaŋ jeero te.
30then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him,
30 Saaya din ay go a do, goni no goy ra. Zaari kulu ay ya a farhã hari no, Han kulu mo ay ga farhã a jine.
31Rejoicing in his whole world. My delight was with the sons of men.
31 Ay ga farhã ndunnya ra kaŋ ga ti a wane, Ay kaani maayaŋo go Adam-izey do mo.
32“Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways.
32 Sohõ binde, ay izey, wa hanga jeeri ay se, Zama albarkante no borey kaŋ yaŋ ga haggoy d'ay fondey.
33Hear instruction, and be wise. Don’t refuse it.
33 Wa maa dondonandiyaŋ. Araŋ ma te laakal, araŋ ma s'a muray mo.
34Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts.
34 Albarkante no boro kaŋ ga maa ay se, Kaŋ zaari kulu a ga batu ay windi meyey bundey gaa.
35For whoever finds me, finds life, and will obtain favor from Yahweh.
35 Zama nga kaŋ ga du ay, fundi no a ga du, A ga du gaakuri Rabbi do mo.
36But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death.”
36 Amma boro kaŋ ga zunubi te ay se, A goono ga nga fundo toonye. Boro kulu kaŋ ga konna ay, buuyaŋ no a ga ba.»
