Deuteronomy

18

1The priests the Levites, all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, and his inheritance.
1 Alfagey da Lawitey, sanda Lawi kunda kulu nooya, i si du baa wala tubu Israyla banda. Kala sargayey* kaŋ i ga ton da danji ka salle Rabbi se, kaŋ ga ti Rabbi baa, ngey no i ga ŋwa.
1The priests the Levites, [even] all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, and his inheritance.
2They shall have no inheritance among their brothers: Yahweh is their inheritance, as he has spoken to them.
2 I si du tubu kulu ngey nya-izey game ra. Rabbi no ga ti i tubo, danga mate kaŋ a ci i se.
2And they shall have no inheritance among their brethren: Jehovah is their inheritance, as he hath spoken unto them.
3This shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give to the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.
3 Woone yaŋ no ga goro alfagey alhakku kaŋ jama g'i no waati kaŋ i ga sargay salle: da haw wala feeji no, i g'a no kambe fo da garbe hinka nda gunde ra jinayey.
3And this shall be the priests' due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.
4The first fruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him.
4 Ni fari boŋ-jina mo, da ni reyzin* kali wane, da ni ji wane, da ni feeji kulu hõseyaŋ sintina, ni g'i no a se.
4The first-fruits of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.
5For Yahweh your God has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Yahweh, him and his sons for ever.
5 Zama Rabbi ni Irikoyo n'a suuban ni kundey kulu ra, a ma kay ka goy te Rabbi maa ra, nga nda nga izey hal abada.
5For Jehovah thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Jehovah, him and his sons for ever.
6If a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel, where he lives as a foreigner, and comes with all the desire of his soul to the place which Yahweh shall choose;
6 Da Lawiti go da goray Israyla kwaara fo kulu ra, d'a fun noodin ka kaa nda nga anniya kulu hala nango kaŋ Rabbi ga suuban,
6And if a Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourneth, and come with all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah shall choose;
7then he shall minister in the name of Yahweh his God, as all his brothers the Levites do, who stand there before Yahweh.
7 a ga goy mo Rabbi nga Irikoyo maa ra, mate kaŋ cine a nya-izey Lawitey ga te. Ngey kaŋ yaŋ ga kay noodin Rabbi jine,
7then he shall minister in the name of Jehovah his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, who stand there before Jehovah.
8They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which comes of the sale of his patrimony.
8 i boro kulu baa ga saba, baaba do tubu baa si.
8They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony.
9When you have come into the land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
9 Da ni furo laabo kaŋ Rabbi ni Irikoyo ga ni no ra, ni ma si dumey din fanta hari goyey dondon.
9When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,
10 I ma si boro kulu gar araŋ do kaŋ ga nga ize aru wala nga ize way daŋ danji ra, wala kaŋ ga guna, wala kaŋ ga handariya sanni ceeci, wala kaŋ ga guna nda hiila sanni, wala dobokoy,
10There shall not be found with thee any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one that useth divination, one that practiseth augury, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,
11or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
11 wala moodabal teeko, wala wayboro ziima, wala alboro ziima, wala boro kaŋ ga buukoy biyey hã.
11or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh: and because of these abominations Yahweh your God does drive them out from before you.
12 Zama boro kulu kaŋ ga hayey din te ya fanta hari no Rabbi se. Fanta hayey din sabbay se mo no Rabbi ni Irikoyo go g'i gaaray ni jine.
12For whosoever doeth these things is an abomination unto Jehovah: and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13You shall be perfect with Yahweh your God.
13 Nin wo, ni ma ciya toonante Rabbi ni Irikoyo banda.
13Thou shalt be perfect with Jehovah thy God.
14For these nations, that you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice sorcery, and to diviners; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you so to do.
14 Zama dumey din kaŋ ni ga furo k'i laabey ŋwa, i ga hangan handariya ceecikoyaŋ da gunakoyaŋ se. Amma nin wo, Rabbi ni Irikoyo mana yadda ni ma te yaadin.
14For these nations, that thou shalt dispossess, hearken unto them that practise augury, and unto diviners; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
15Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.
15 Rabbi ni Irikoyo ga annabi* fo tunandi ni se ni nya-izey game ra, danga ay cine. A se no araŋ ga hima ka hangan.
15Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
16This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, “Let me not hear again the voice of Yahweh my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.”
16according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
17Yahweh said to me, “They have well said that which they have spoken.
17 Rabbi mo ne ay se: «Wo kaŋ i ci din boori.
17And Jehovah said unto me, They have well said that which they have spoken.
18I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.
18 Ay ga annabi fo tunandi i se i nya-izey game ra, danga ni cine. Ay g'ay sanney daŋ a meyo ra. Nga mo ga salaŋ i se ka ci hay kulu kaŋ ay g'a lordi nd'a.
18I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
19 A ga ciya mo, boro kulu kaŋ si hangan ay sanney se kaŋ bora din ga salaŋ ay maa ra, ay bumbo ga bora koy hã d'a.
19And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20But the prophet, who shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.”
20 Amma annabi kaŋ ga tun da farrati ka sanni salaŋ ay maa ra, kaŋ ay man'a lordi nd'a ka ne a ma salaŋ, wala d'a ga salaŋ de-koy waani-waaney maayey ra, kulu annabo din ga bu.»
20But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.
21If you say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?”
21 Da ni ga hã ni bina ra ka ne: «Amma day, mate no iri ga te ka bay sanno kaŋ Rabbi mana salaŋ gaa?»
21And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word which Jehovah hath not spoken?
22when a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken: the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you shall not be afraid of him.
22 To, da annabi salaŋ Rabbi maa ra, da haya kaŋ a ci din mana to, wala a si kokor ka to mo, kulu haya din ga ti wo kaŋ Rabbi mana ci no. Amma annabo din no k'a ci da farrati. Ni ma si humburu bora din.
22when a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which Jehovah hath not spoken: the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him.
