1In my distress, I cried to Yahweh. He answered me.
1 Zijiyaŋ dooni no. Ay kankamo ra ay hẽ Rabbi gaa, a tu ay se mo.
1A Song of Ascents. In my distress I cried unto Jehovah, And he answered me.
2Deliver my soul, Yahweh, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.
2 Ya Rabbi, m'ay fundo faaba meyey kaŋ ga tangari te yaŋ gaa, Da deene kaŋ ga halli mo gaa.
2Deliver my soul, O Jehovah, from lying lips, [And] from a deceitful tongue.
3What will be given to you, and what will be done more to you, you deceitful tongue?
3 Ya nin, deene kaŋ ga halli, ifo no i ga ni no, Ifo mo no i ga tonton ni se?
3What shall be given unto thee, and what shall be done more unto thee, Thou deceitful tongue?
4Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.
4 To, wongaari hangawey kaŋ gonda deene, Ngey da zam tuuri danj'izeyaŋ no.
4Sharp arrows of the mighty, With coals of juniper.
5Woe is me, that I live in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
5 Kaari ay, za kaŋ ay goono ga yawtaray te Mesek ra, Za kaŋ ay goono ga goro Kedar bukka ra.
5Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
6My soul has had her dwelling too long with him who hates peace.
6 Ay fundo gay gumo a goono ga goro borey kaŋ yaŋ konna laakal kanay banda.
6My soul hath long had her dwelling With him that hateth peace.
7I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war.
7 Ay wo, laakal kanay no ay ga ba, Amma d'ay salaŋ, wongu no i ga ba.
7I am [for] peace: But when I speak, they are for war.
