Psalms

22

1My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?
1 Doonkoy jine bora se. I m'a doon da subo kaŋ se i ga ne: «Susubay jeeri no». Dawda wane no.
1For the Chief Musician; set to Aijaleth hash-Shahar. A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [Why art thou so] far from helping me, [and from] the words of my groaning?
2My God, I cry in the daytime, but you don’t answer; in the night season, and am not silent.
2 Ya ay Irikoyo, ay Irikoyo, ifo se no ni n'ay furu? Ifo se no ay go ga duray, Day ni mooru ay gaakasinay se?
2O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not; And in the night season, and am not silent.
3But you are holy, you who inhabit the praises of Israel.
3 Ya ay Irikoyo, zaari ay go ga hẽ, ni mana tu, Cin mo yana fulanzam.
3But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4Our fathers trusted in you. They trusted, and you delivered them.
4 Amma ni ya hananyankoy no, Israyla saabuyaŋey ya ni nangoray no.
4Our fathers trusted in thee: They trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5They cried to you, and were delivered. They trusted in you, and were not disappointed.
5 Iri kaayey de ni gaa, I na deyaŋ te, ni n'i kaa kambe mo.
5They cried unto thee, and were delivered: They trusted in thee, and were not put to shame.
6But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people.
6 I na jinde tunandi ni gaa, i du faaba. I de ni gaa, i mana haaw.
6But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7All those who see me mock me. They insult me with their lips. They shake their heads, saying,
7 Amma ay wo noon'ize no, manti boro bo, Taali dakeyaŋ hari no borey se, Dondayaŋ hari no jama se.
7All they that see me laugh me to scorn: They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, [saying],
8“He trusts in Yahweh; let him deliver him. Let him rescue him, since he delights in him.”
8 Boro kulu kaŋ ga di ay, Donda-caray haari no a ga te ay se. I ga me nyatte ay gaa ka ngey boŋey zinji. I goono ga ne:
8Commit [thyself] unto Jehovah; Let him deliver him: Let him rescue him, seeing he delighteth in him.
9But you brought me out of the womb. You made me trust at my mother’s breasts.
9 «A de Rabbi gaa, naŋ Rabbi m'a kaa kambe me. Naŋ a m'a faaba, za kaŋ Rabbi ga maa a kaani.»
9But thou art he that took me out of the womb; Thou didst make me trust [when I was] upon my mother's breasts.
10I was thrown on you from my mother’s womb. You are my God since my mother bore me.
10 Amma nin no k'ay zumandi ay ma fun gunde ra. Ni naŋ ay ma deyaŋ te za ay go ay nyaŋo fafa gaa.
10I was cast upon thee from the womb; Thou art my God since my mother bare me.
11Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is none to help.
11 I n'ay sarku ni gaa za i n'ay hay. Za ay nyaŋo gunda ra nin no ga ti ay Irikoyo.
11Be not far from me; for trouble is near; For there is none to help.
12Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.
12 Ma si mooru ay, zama taabi ga maan, gaako si no mo.
12Many bulls have compassed me; Strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13They open their mouths wide against me, lions tearing prey and roaring.
13 Yeeji boobo n'ay windi, Basan yaaru gaabikooney tun ay gaa k'ay daŋ game.
13They gape upon me with their mouth, [As] a ravening and a roaring lion.
14I am poured out like water. All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted within me.
14 I goono g'ay gomdo ka me kombandi ay gaa. Sanda muusu beeri kaŋ ga koli ham tooru-tooru, A ga dundu mo.
14I am poured out like water, And all my bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; It is melted within me.
15My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.
15 I n'ay soogu sanda hari, ay biriyey kulu na care taŋ. Ay bina mo yu fanta cine no, a manne ay bindo ra.
15My strength is dried up like a potsherd; And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; And thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
16For dogs have surrounded me. A company of evildoers have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and feet.
16 Ay gaabo koogu sanda car-cambu cine. Ay deena go ga naagu ay daana gaa. Ni kande ay buuyaŋ kusa ra.
16For dogs have compassed me: A company of evil-doers have inclosed me; They pierced my hands and my feet.
17I can count all of my bones. They look and stare at me.
17 Zama hansey n'ay windi, laalakoyey jama n'ay daŋ game. I n'ay kambey d'ay cey fun,
17I may count all my bones; They look and stare upon me.
18They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.
18 Hala a to naŋ kaŋ ay g'ay biriyey kulu kabu. I go g'ay guna ka mo sinji ay gaa.
18They part my garments among them, And upon my vesture do they cast lots.
19But don’t be far off, Yahweh. You are my help: hurry to help me.
19 I goono g'ay bankaarayey fay-fay ngey nda care game ra, Ay kwaayo boŋ mo, i goono ga kurne te.
19But be not thou far off, O Jehovah: O thou my succor, haste thee to help me.
20Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog.
20 Amma ni, ya Rabbi, ma si mooru ay. Ya nin ay gaakwa, ma te waasi ay gaayaŋ sabbay se.
20Deliver my soul from the sword, My darling from the power of the dog.
21Save me from the lion’s mouth! Yes, from the horns of the wild oxen, you have answered me.
21 M'ay fundo faaba takuba kaani gaa, K'ay fundi follonka mo faaba hansi hina gaa.
21Save me from the lion's mouth; Yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen thou hast answered me.
22I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the assembly, I will praise you.
22 M'ay faaba muusu beeri me ra, Da haw-bi hilli gaa mo. Za kaŋ ni tu ay se,
22I will declare thy name unto my brethren: In the midst of the assembly will I praise thee.
23You who fear Yahweh, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify him! Stand in awe of him, all you descendants of Israel!
23 Ay ga ni maa fe ay nya-izey se, Jama bindo ra no ay ga ni sifa.
23Ye that fear Jehovah, praise him; All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; And stand in awe of him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, Neither has he hidden his face from him; but when he cried to him, he heard.
