Psalms

63

1God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.
1 Dawda baytu no kaŋ a te waato kaŋ a go Yahuda ganjo ra.
1A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; earnestly will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee, In a dry and weary land, where no water is.
2So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory.
2 Ya Irikoy, nin no ga ti ay Irikoyo.
2So have I looked upon thee in the sanctuary, To see thy power and thy glory.
3Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you.
3Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise thee.
4So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name.
4So will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
5My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food. My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,
5 Yaadin no ay ga ni sifa ay fundo me muudu, Ay g'ay kambey sambu ni maa ra.
5My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips;
6when I remember you on my bed, and think about you in the night watches.
6 Ay fundo ga kungu danga _boro kaŋ du|_ maani ji da ham kaŋ gonda maani boobo. Ay meyo mo ga ni sifa da me kuurey kaŋ ga farhã.
6When I remember thee upon my bed, [And] meditate on thee in the night-watches.
7For you have been my help. I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.
7For thou hast been my help, And in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8My soul stays close to you. Your right hand holds me up.
8My soul followeth hard after thee: Thy right hand upholdeth me.
9But those who seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
9But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, Shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
10They shall be given over to the power of the sword. They shall be jackal food.
10 Amma borey kaŋ yaŋ goono g'ay fundo ceeci zama ngey m'a halaci se,
10They shall be given over to the power of the sword: They shall be a portion for foxes.
11But the king shall rejoice in God. Everyone who swears by him will praise him, for the mouth of those who speak lies shall be silenced.
11 Ni g'i nooyandi takuba hin se, i ga ciya zoŋey baa. I ga furo yongo ndunnya guusuyaŋo ra.
11But the king shall rejoice in God: Every one that sweareth by him shall glory; For the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
12 Amma bonkoono ga te bine kaani Irikoy ra. Boro kulu kaŋ ga ze d'a mo, A koy ga du darza, zama i ga tangarikomey meyey daabu.
