1Yahweh, you God to whom vengeance belongs, you God to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth.
1 Ya Rabbi, banayaŋ Irikoyo, Nin, Irikoy banayankoy, ma kaari zortandi!
1O Jehovah, thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, Thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, shine forth.
2Rise up, you judge of the earth. Pay back the proud what they deserve.
2 Ya ndunnya Ciitikwa, ma tun ka kay! Ma bana boŋbeeraykoyey gaa.
2Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: Render to the proud [their] desert.
3Yahweh, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph?
3 Ya Rabbi, hala waati fo? Waati fo no laalakoyey ga fay da ngey boŋ zamuuyaŋ?
3Jehovah, how long shall the wicked, How long shall the wicked triumph?
4They pour out arrogant words. All the evildoers boast.
4 I goono ga sanni yaamo dooru, I goono ga boŋbeeray sanniyaŋ te. Laala goy teekoy kulu goono ga fooma.
4They prate, they speak arrogantly: All the workers of iniquity boast themselves.
5They break your people in pieces, Yahweh, and afflict your heritage.
5 Ya Rabbi, i goono ga ni borey bagu-bagu, I na ni wane borey taabandi.
5They break in pieces thy people, O Jehovah, And afflict thy heritage.
6They kill the widow and the alien, and murder the fatherless.
6 I goono ga wayboro kaŋ kurnye bu, Da yaw, da alatuumi mo wi.
6They slay the widow and the sojourner, And murder the fatherless.
7They say, “Yah will not see, neither will Jacob’s God consider.”
7 I ga ne mo: «Rabbi si di. Yakuba Irikoyo si laakal ye bo.»
7And they say, Jehovah will not see, Neither will the God of Jacob consider.
8Consider, you senseless among the people; you fools, when will you be wise?
Araŋ mo saamey, waati fo no araŋ ga te laakal?
8Consider, ye brutish among the people; And ye fools, when will ye be wise?
9He who implanted the ear, won’t he hear? He who formed the eye, won’t he see?
Wala mo nga kaŋ na mo te, a si di no?
9He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10He who disciplines the nations, won’t he punish? He who teaches man knows.
10He that chastiseth the nations, shall not he correct, [Even] he that teacheth man knowledge?
11Yahweh knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile.
11 Rabbi ga boro miiley bay, kaŋ yaamoyaŋ no.
11Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, That they are vanity.
12Blessed is the man whom you discipline, Yah, and teach out of your law;
12Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jehovah, And teachest out of thy law;
13that you may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked.
13 Zama ni m'a no fulanzamay k'a waa taabi jirbey, Hal i ga guusu hirrimi fansi laalakoyey se.
13That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit be digged for the wicked.
14For Yahweh won’t reject his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
14For Jehovah will not cast off his people, Neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15For judgment will return to righteousness. All the upright in heart shall follow it.
15 Zama ciiti ga ye ka ciya adilitaray wane, Borey kulu kaŋ bine ga saba mo g'a gana.
15For judgment shall return unto righteousness; And all the upright in heart shall follow it.
16Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against the evildoers?
16Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
17Unless Yahweh had been my help, my soul would have soon lived in silence.
17 Da manti kaŋ Rabbi no ga ti ay Gaakwa, Doŋ a si gay kaŋ ay fundo ga goro siw nango ra.
17Unless Jehovah had been my help, My soul had soon dwelt in silence.
18When I said, “My foot is slipping!” Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up.
18 Ya Rabbi, saaya kaŋ cine ay ne ay ce ga tansi, Ni baakasinay suujo n'ay gaay.
18When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, held me up.
19In the multitude of my thoughts within me, your comforts delight my soul.
19In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul.
20Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, which brings about mischief by statute?
20 Laala karga kaŋ ga zamba dabari te hin sanni boŋ, A ga gorokasinay da nin no?
20Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee, Which frameth mischief by statute?
21They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
21 Wuup, folloŋ! i tun adilante fundo se, I goono ga boro kaŋ sinda taali zeeri nda buuyaŋ ciiti.
21They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, And condemn the innocent blood.
22But Yahweh has been my high tower, my God, the rock of my refuge.
22 Amma Rabbi ya ay cinari kuuko no, Ay Irikoyo mo, ay koruyaŋ tondo mo no.
22But Jehovah hath been my high tower, And my God the rock of my refuge.
23He has brought on them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own wickedness. Yahweh, our God, will cut them off.
23 A n'i taaley ye i boŋ, A g'i tuusu i laalayaŋo ra, Rabbi iri Irikoyo g'i tuusu.
23And he hath brought upon them their own iniquity, And will cut them off in their own wickedness; Jehovah our God will cut them off.
