¹The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

¹พระวจนะซึ่งมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ถึงเยเรมีย์ว่า

²Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

²"เจ้าจงฟังถ้อยคำในพันธสัญญานี้เถิด และจงกล่าวแก่คนยูดาห์และชาวกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

³and say to them, Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: Cursed is the man who doesn’t hear the words of this covenant,

³เจ้าจงกล่าวแก่เขาว่า พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลตรัสดังนี้ว่า คนหนึ่งคนใดที่ไม่เชื่อฟังถ้อยคำในพันธสัญญานี้ ให้ผู้นั้นเป็นที่แช่งเถิด

⁴which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so you shall be my people, and I will be your God;

⁴ซึ่งเป็นพันธสัญญาที่เราบัญชาแก่บรรพบุรุษของเจ้าทั้งหลาย ในวันที่เราได้นำเขาออกมาจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ จากเตาไฟเหล็ก กล่าวว่า จงเชื่อฟังเสียงของเรา และจงกระทำทุกอย่างที่เราบัญชาเจ้าไว้ เจ้าจึงจะเป็นประชาชนของเรา และเราจะเป็นพระเจ้าของเจ้า

⁵that I may establish the oath which I swore to your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as at this day. Then answered I, and said, Amen, Yahweh.

⁵เพื่อเราจะกระทำให้สำเร็จตามคำปฏิญาณซึ่งเราได้ปฏิญาณไว้กับบรรพบุรุษของเจ้าว่า จะประทานแผ่นดินซึ่งมีน้ำนมและน้ำผึ้งไหลบริบูรณ์แก่เขาอย่างที่เป็นอยู่ทุกวันนี้" แล้วข้าพเจ้าจึงทูลตอบว่า "ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ ขอให้เป็นดังนั้นเถิด"

⁶Yahweh said to me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear the words of this covenant, and do them.

⁶และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสแก่ข้าพเจ้าว่า "จงป่าวร้องถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้นในหัวเมืองของยูดาห์และในถนนหนทางเยรูซาเล็มว่า จงฟังถ้อยคำแห่งพันธสัญญานี้และประพฤติตาม

⁷For I earnestly protested to your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even to this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.

⁷เพราะเราได้กล่าวตักเตือนอย่างแข็งแรงต่อบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า ในวันที่เรานำเขาขึ้นมาจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ แม้จนถึงทุกวันนี้อย่างไม่หยุดยั้งกล่าวตักเตือนว่า จงเชื่อฟังเสียงของเรา

⁸Yet they didn’t obey, nor turn their ear, but walked everyone in the stubbornness of their evil heart: therefore I brought on them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they didn’t do them.

⁸ถึงกระนั้นเขาทั้งหลายก็ไม่เชื่อฟังหรือเงี่ยหูฟัง แต่ทุกคนดำเนินตามความดื้อกระด้างแห่งจิตใจอันชั่วร้ายของเขา เหตุฉะนี้เราจึงจะนำซึ่งตามบรรดาถ้อยคำแห่งพันธสัญญานี้ที่เราได้บัญชาให้เขากระทำ แต่เขามิได้กระทำตามนั้น ให้มาตกเหนือเขา"

⁹Yahweh said to me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

⁹พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าอีกว่า "มีการคิดกบฏท่ามกลางคนยูดาห์และท่ามกลางชาวกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

¹⁰They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words; and they are gone after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

¹⁰เขาได้หันกลับไปหาความชั่วช้าแห่งบรรพบุรุษของเขา ผู้ปฏิเสธไม่ยอมฟังถ้อยคำของเรา เขาติดสอยห้อยตามพระอื่นๆ และปรนนิบัติพระนั้น วงศ์วานอิสราเอลและวงศ์วานยูดาห์ได้ผิดพันธสัญญาของเรา ซึ่งเรากระทำต่อบรรพบุรุษของเขา

¹¹Therefore thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will bring evil on them, which they shall not be able to escape; and they shall cry to me, but I will not listen to them.

¹¹เพราะฉะนั้น พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราจะนำเหตุร้ายมาเหนือเขา ซึ่งเขาหนีไม่พ้น ถึงเขาจะร้องทุกข์ต่อเรา เราจะไม่ฟังเขาทั้งหลาย

¹²Then shall the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem go and cry to the gods to which they offer incense: but they will not save them at all in the time of their trouble.

¹²แล้วหัวเมืองยูดาห์และชาวกรุงเยรูซาเล็มจะไปร้องทุกข์ต่อพระ ซึ่งเขาทั้งหลายได้เผาเครื่องหอมถวายนั้น แต่พระเหล่านั้นจะช่วยเขาให้รอดในเวลาลำบากไม่ได้

¹³For according to the number of your cities are your gods, Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have you set up altars to the shameful thing, even altars to burn incense to Baal.

¹³ยูดาห์เอ๋ย พระทั้งหลายของเจ้าก็มากเท่ากับหัวเมืองทั้งหลายของเจ้า และตามจำนวนหนทางในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มเจ้าได้ตั้งแท่นบูชาถวายสิ่งที่อับอาย คือแท่นสำหรับเผาเครื่องหอมถวายแก่พระบาอัล

¹⁴Therefore don’t pray for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry to me because of their trouble.

¹⁴เพราะฉะนั้น เจ้าอย่าอธิษฐานเพื่อชนชาตินี้ อย่าร้องขึ้นหรืออธิษฐานเพื่อเขาทั้งหลาย เพราะเราจะไม่ฟังเมื่อเขาร้องต่อเราในเวลาลำบาก

¹⁵What has my beloved to do in my house, since she has worked lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from you? when you do evil, then you rejoice.

¹⁵ผู้ที่รักของเรานั้นมีสิทธิอะไรในนิเวศของเราเล่า ในเมื่อนางนั้นได้กระทำการชั่วช้ามาก และเนื้ออันบริสุทธิ์ได้พ้นไปจากเจ้าแล้ว เมื่อเจ้ากระทำชั่ว เจ้าจึงเริงโลด

¹⁶Yahweh called your name, A green olive tree, beautiful with goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he has kindled fire on it, and its branches are broken.

¹⁶พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเคยเรียกเจ้าว่า `ต้นมะกอกเทศสดงดงามด้วยผลเป็นอย่างดี' แต่พระองค์ทรงก่อไฟเผามันเสียด้วยเสียงพายุใหญ่ และกิ่งทั้งหลายของมันก็ถูกหักเสียแล้ว

¹⁷For Yahweh of Armies, who planted you, has pronounced evil against you, because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have worked for themselves in provoking me to anger by offering incense to Baal.

¹⁷ด้วยว่าพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา ผู้ได้ปลูกเจ้า ได้ทรงประกาศความร้ายให้ตกแก่เจ้า เพราะความชั่วช้าของวงศ์วานอิสราเอลและวงศ์วานยูดาห์ ซึ่งเขาได้กระทำต่อสู้ตนเอง เพื่อได้ยั่วยุให้เราโกรธ ด้วยการเผาเครื่องหอมถวายแก่พระบาอัล"

¹⁸Yahweh gave me knowledge of it, and I knew it: then you showed me their doings.

¹⁸พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสำแดงแก่ข้าพเจ้า และข้าพเจ้าก็รู้แล้ว พระองค์ทรงสำแดงการกระทำของเขาแก่ข้าพระองค์

¹⁹But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter; and I didn’t know that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

¹⁹แต่ข้าพระองค์เป็นเหมือนลูกแกะหรือวัวซึ่งถูกพามาถึงที่ฆ่า ข้าพระองค์ไม่ทราบเลยว่า พวกเขาได้ออกอุบายต่อสู้ข้าพระองค์โดยกล่าวว่า "ให้เราทำลายต้นไม้กับผลของมันเสียด้วย ให้เราตัดเขาออกเสียจากแผ่นดินของคนเป็น เพื่อชื่อของเขาจะไม่เป็นที่ระลึกถึงอีกเลย"

²⁰But, Yahweh of Armies, who judges righteously, who tests the heart and the mind, I shall see your vengeance on them; for to you have I revealed my cause.

²⁰แต่ว่า ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา ผู้ทรงพิพากษาอย่างชอบธรรม ผู้ทรงทดลองดูทั้งใจและจิต ขอให้ข้าพระองค์แลเห็นการแก้แค้นของพระองค์ตกแก่เขา เพราะข้าพระองค์ได้มอบเรื่องของข้าพระองค์ไว้กับพระองค์แล้ว

²¹Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning the men of Anathoth, who seek your life, saying, You shall not prophesy in the name of Yahweh, that you not die by our hand;

²¹เพราะฉะนั้น พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้เกี่ยวกับคนตำบลอานาโธท ผู้แสวงหาชีวิตของเจ้าและกล่าวว่า "อย่าพยากรณ์ในพระนามของพระเยโฮวาห์ หรือมิฉะนั้นเจ้าจะต้องตายด้วยมือของเรา"

²²therefore thus says Yahweh of Armies, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine;

²²เพราะฉะนั้น พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสว่า "ดูเถิด เราจะลงโทษเขาทั้งปวง พวกคนหนุ่มจะตายด้วยดาบ บรรดาบุตรชายและบุตรสาวของเขาจะตายด้วยการกันดารอาหาร

²³and there shall be no remnant to them: for I will bring evil on the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.

²³จะไม่มีเหลือสักคนเดียว เพราะเราจะนำความร้ายมาสู่คนตำบลอานาโธท คือปีแห่งการลงโทษเขา"
