1You are righteous, Yahweh, when I contend with you; yet I would reason the cause with you: why does the way of the wicked prosper? why are all they at ease who deal very treacherously?
1ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ เมื่อข้าพระองค์สู้คดีกับพระองค์ พระองค์ก็ทรงเป็นฝ่ายถูก แม้กระนั้นข้าพระองค์ยังขอทูลเสนอมูลคดีของข้าพระองค์ต่อพระองค์ ไฉนทางของคนชั่วจึงจำเริญขึ้น ไฉนทุกคนที่ทรยศก็อยู่เย็นเป็นสุข
2You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; they grow, yes, they bring forth fruit: you are near in their mouth, and far from their heart.
2พระองค์ทรงปลูกเขาทั้งหลาย และเขาทั้งหลายก็หยั่งรากลง เขาทั้งหลายงอกงามขึ้นและบังเกิดผล พระองค์ทรงอยู่ใกล้ที่ปากของเขา แต่ไกลจากใจของเขา
3But you, Yahweh, know me; you see me, and try my heart toward you: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
3ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ แต่พระองค์ทรงรู้จักข้าพระองค์ พระองค์ทรงเห็นข้าพระองค์และทรงทดลองใจของข้าพระองค์ที่มีต่อพระองค์ ขอทรงฉุดเขาออกมาเหมือนแกะสำหรับการฆ่า และตั้งเขาทั้งหลายไว้ต่างหากเพื่อวันฆ่า
4How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole country wither? for the wickedness of those who dwell therein, the animals are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our latter end.
4แผ่นดินนี้จะไว้ทุกข์นานเท่าใด และผักหญ้าตามท้องนาทุกแห่งจะเหี่ยวแห้งไปนานเท่าใด เพราะความชั่วของผู้ที่อาศัยอยู่ในนั้น สัตว์และนกก็ถูกผลาญไปเสียสิ้น เพราะเขาว่า "พระองค์จะไม่ทอดพระเนตรบั้นสุดปลายของเราทั้งหลาย"
5If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? and though in a land of peace you are secure, yet how will you do in the pride of the Jordan?
5"ถ้าเจ้าวิ่งแข่งกับทหารราบ และเขาทำให้เจ้าเหน็ดเหนื่อย เจ้าจะแข่งกับม้าได้อย่างไร และถ้าเจ้ายังเหน็ดเหนื่อยในแผ่นดินแห่งสันติภาพซึ่งเจ้าวางใจนั้น เจ้าจะทำอย่างไรในคลื่นของลุ่มแม่น้ำจอร์แดน
6For even your brothers, and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you; even they have cried aloud after you: don’t believe them, though they speak beautiful words to you.
6เพราะว่าแม้พี่น้องของเจ้าและวงศ์วานของบิดาเจ้า แม้ว่าเขาก็ได้กระทำการทรยศต่อเจ้า เขายังเรียกให้ฝูงชนไล่ตามเจ้าไป ถึงแม้ว่าเขาพูดถ้อยคำอย่างดีแก่เจ้า อย่าเชื่อเขาเลย
7I have forsaken my house, I have cast off my heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

8My heritage has become to me as a lion in the forest: she has uttered her voice against me; therefore I have hated her.

9Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field, bring them to devour.
9มรดกของเราเป็นแก่เราเหมือนนกลายด่าง นกซึ่งอยู่รอบต่อสู้นกนั้น ไปเถอะ ไปชุมนุมสัตว์ป่าทุ่งทั้งสิ้น นำมันให้มากินเสีย
10Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
10ผู้เลี้ยงแกะเป็นอันมากได้ทำลายสวนองุ่นของเราเสีย เขาทั้งหลายได้เหยียบย่ำส่วนของเราไว้ใต้ฝ่าเท้า เขาทั้งหลายได้กระทำให้ส่วนอันพึงใจของเรากลายเป็นถิ่นทุรกันดารที่รกร้าง
11They have made it a desolation; it mourns to me, being desolate; the whole land is made desolate, because no man lays it to heart.
11เขาทั้งหลายได้กระทำส่วนของเราให้รกร้าง เมื่อรกร้างส่วนนั้นก็คร่ำครวญต่อเรา แผ่นดินทั้งสิ้นก็ถูกทิ้งให้รกร้าง เพราะไม่มีผู้ใดเอาใจใส่ในเรื่องนี้
12Destroyers have come on all the bare heights in the wilderness; for the sword of Yahweh devours from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh has peace.
12ผู้ทำลายล้างได้มาบนบรรดาที่สูงทั้งปวงในถิ่นทุรกันดาร เพราะว่าแสงดาบของพระเยโฮวาห์จะทำลายจากปลายแผ่นดินนี้ไปถึงปลายอีกข้างหนึ่ง ไม่มีเนื้อหนังใดๆที่จะมีสันติภาพ
13They have sown wheat, and have reaped thorns; they have put themselves to pain, and profit nothing: and you shall be ashamed of your fruits, because of the fierce anger of Yahweh.
13เขาทั้งหลายได้หว่านข้าวสาลี แต่จะเกี่ยวหนาม เขาได้กระทำให้ตัวเจ็บปวด แต่จะไม่ได้กำไรอะไร เขาทั้งหลายจะละอายด้วยผลการเกี่ยวของเขา ด้วยเหตุความโกรธเกรี้ยวกราดของพระเยโฮวาห์"
14Thus says Yahweh against all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.
14พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ ด้วยเรื่องบรรดาเพื่อนบ้านที่ชั่วร้ายของเรา ผู้ที่ได้แตะต้องมรดกซึ่งเราได้ให้อิสราเอลประชาชนของเราสืบมรดกนั้นว่า "ดูเถิด เราจะถอนเขาทั้งหลายขึ้นจากแผ่นดินของเขา และเราจะถอนวงศ์วานยูดาห์จากท่ามกลางเขาทั้งหลาย
15It shall happen, after that I have plucked them up, I will return and have compassion on them; and I will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
15และต่อมาหลังจากที่เราได้ถอนเขาทั้งหลายขึ้นแล้ว เราจะกลับมีความเมตตาต่อเขาอีก และเราจะนำเขาทั้งหลายมาอีก ให้ต่างก็มายังมรดกของตน และยังแผ่นดินของตน
16It shall happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, As Yahweh lives; even as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built up in the midst of my people.
16และจะเกิดกรณีขึ้นว่า ถ้าเขาทั้งหลายจะอุตส่าห์ศึกษาทางแห่งประชาชนของเรา คือปฏิญาณในนามของเราว่า `ตราบใดที่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงพระชนม์อยู่แน่' อย่างที่เขาได้สอนประชาชนของเราให้ปฏิญาณโดยพระบาอัล แล้วเขาจะได้รับการสร้างขึ้นไว้ท่ามกลางประชาชนของเรา
17But if they will not hear, then will I pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it, says Yahweh.
17แต่ถ้าเขาทั้งหลายจะไม่เชื่อฟัง แล้วเราจะถอนประชาชาตินั้นขึ้นและทำลายเขาจนสิ้น" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ
