1The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth that were under his dominion, and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of it, saying:
1พระวจนะซึ่งมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ถึงเยเรมีย์ เมื่อเนบูคัดเนสซาร์กษัตริย์แห่งเมืองบาบิโลน และกองทัพทั้งหมดของพระองค์ และบรรดาราชอาณาจักรในแผ่นดินโลกซึ่งอยู่ใต้การครอบครองของพระองค์ และชนชาติทั้งหลายที่ต่อสู้กับกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และหัวเมืองทั้งปวงของกรุงนั้นว่า
2Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Go, and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:
2"พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลตรัสดังนี้ว่า จงไปพูดกับเศเดคียาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์และกล่าวแก่ท่านว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราจะมอบกรุงนี้ไว้ในมือกษัตริย์บาบิโลน และเขาจะเผาเสียด้วยไฟ
3and you shall not escape out of his hand, but shall surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and your eyes shall see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with you mouth to mouth, and you shall go to Babylon.
3ท่านจะไม่รอดไปจากมือของเขา แต่จะถูกจับแน่และถูกมอบไว้ในมือของเขา ท่านจะได้เห็นกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนตาต่อตา และจะได้พูดกันปากต่อปาก และท่านจะต้องไปยังบาบิโลน'
4Yet hear the word of Yahweh, O Zedekiah king of Judah: thus says Yahweh concerning you, You shall not die by the sword;
4ข้าแต่เศเดคียาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ อย่างไรก็ดีขอทรงสดับพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสเกี่ยวกับพระองค์ดังนี้ว่า ท่านจะไม่ตายด้วยดาบ
5you shall die in peace; and with the burnings of your fathers, the former kings who were before you, so shall they make a burning for you; and they shall lament you, saying, Ah Lord! for I have spoken the word, says Yahweh.
5ท่านจะตายด้วยความสงบ และเขาจะเผาเครื่องหอมเพื่อศพบรรพบุรุษของท่าน คือบรรดากษัตริย์ซึ่งอยู่ก่อนท่านฉันใด คนเขาก็จะเผาเครื่องหอมเพื่อท่านฉันนั้น และเขาจะคร่ำครวญเพื่อท่านว่า `อนิจจาเอ๋ย พระองค์เจ้าข้า' เพราะเราได้ลั่นวาจาไว้แล้ว" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ
6Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words to Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,
6แล้วเยเรมีย์ผู้พยากรณ์ได้ทูลบรรดาพระวจนะเหล่านี้ต่อเศเดคียาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม
7when the king of Babylon’s army was fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish and against Azekah; for these alone remained of the cities of Judah as fortified cities.
7ขณะเมื่อกองทัพของกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนกำลังสู้รบกรุงเยรูซาเล็มและหัวเมืองแห่งยูดาห์ทั้งสิ้นที่ยังเหลืออยู่ คือ เมืองลาคีชและเมืองอาเซคาห์ เพราะยังเหลืออยู่สองเมืองนี้เท่านั้นที่เป็นหัวเมืองยูดาห์ที่มีกำแพงป้อม
8The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty to them;
8พระวจนะซึ่งมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ยังเยเรมีย์ หลังจากที่กษัตริย์เศเดคียาห์ได้ทรงกระทำพันธสัญญากับบรรดาประชาชนในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มว่า จะประกาศราชกฤษฎีกาเรื่องอิสรภาพแก่เขาทั้งหลาย ดังนี้
9that every man should let his male servant, and every man his female servant, who is a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, go free; that none should make bondservants of them, of a Jew his brother.
9ให้ทุกคนปล่อยทาสฮีบรูของตนทั้งชายและหญิงเสียให้เป็นอิสระ เพื่อว่าจะไม่มีผู้ใดกระทำให้ยิวพี้น้องของตนเป็นทาส
10All the princes and all the people obeyed, who had entered into the covenant, that everyone should let his male servant, and everyone his female servant, go free, that none should make bondservants of them any more; they obeyed, and let them go:
10เมื่อบรรดาเจ้านายและบรรดาประชาชน ผู้เข้ากระทำพันธสัญญาได้ยินว่า ทุกคนจะปล่อยทาสของตนทั้งชายและหญิง เพื่อว่าเขาทั้งหลายจะไม่ถูกกระทำให้เป็นทาสอีก เขาทั้งหลายก็ได้เชื่อฟังและปล่อยทาสให้เป็นอิสระ
11but afterwards they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.
11แต่ภายหลังเขาได้หวนกลับ และจับทาสชายและหญิงซึ่งเขาได้ปล่อยให้เป็นอิสระนั้นมาให้อยู่ใต้บังคับของการเป็นทาสชายและหญิงอีก
12Therefore the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,
12พระวจนะแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์จึงมายังเยเรมีย์จากพระเยโฮวาห์ว่า
13Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, saying,
13"พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลตรัสดังนี้ว่า เราได้กระทำพันธสัญญากับบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า ในวันที่เรานำเขาออกมาจากแผ่นดินอียปต์ ออกจากเรือนทาสว่า
14At the end of seven years you shall let go every man his brother who is a Hebrew, who has been sold to you, and has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you: but your fathers didn’t listen to me, neither inclined their ear.
14เมื่อสิ้นเจ็ดปีแล้วเจ้าทุกคนจะต้องปล่อยพี่น้องฮีบรูผู้ที่เขาเอามาขายไว้กับเจ้า และได้รับใช้เจ้ามาหกปี เจ้าต้องปล่อยเขาให้เป็นอิสระพ้นจากการรับใช้เจ้า แต่บรรพบุรุษของเจ้าไม่ฟังเราและไม่เงี่ยหูฟังเรา
15You had now turned, and had done that which is right in my eyes, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbor; and you had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:
15บัดนี้เจ้าได้หันกลับและกระทำสิ่งที่ถูกต้องในสายตาของเรา โดยการประกาศอิสรภาพทุกคนต่อเพื่อนบ้านของตน และเจ้าได้กระทำพันธสัญญาต่อหน้าเราในนิเวศซึ่งเรียกตามนามของเรา
16but you turned and profaned my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom you had let go free at their pleasure, to return; and you brought them into subjection, to be to you for servants and for handmaids.
16แต่แล้วเจ้าก็หวนกลับกระทำให้นามของเราเป็นมลทิน ในเมื่อเจ้าทุกคนจับทาสชายหญิงของเจ้า ซึ่งเจ้าได้ปล่อยให้เป็นอิสระไปตามความปรารถนาของเขาทั้งหลายแล้วนั้นกลับมาให้อยู่ใต้บังคับของการเป็นทาสชายและหญิงอีก
17Therefore thus says Yahweh: you have not listened to me, to proclaim liberty, every man to his brother, and every man to his neighbor: behold, I proclaim to you a liberty, says Yahweh, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.
17เพราะฉะนั้น พระเยโฮวาห์จึงตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้าทั้งหลายมิได้เชื่อฟังเราด้วยการป่าวร้องเรื่องอิสรภาพต่อพี่น้องและเพื่อนบ้านของตน พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า ดูเถิด เราป่าวร้องว่า เจ้าทั้งหลายเป็นอิสระต่อดาบ ต่อโรคระบาด และต่อการกันดารอาหาร เราจะกระทำเจ้าให้ย้ายไปอยู่ในบรรดาราชอาณาจักรของแผ่นดินโลก
18I will give the men who have transgressed my covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before me, when they cut the calf in two and passed between its parts;
18และคนที่ละเมิดต่อพันธสัญญาของเรา และมิได้กระทำตามข้อตกลงในพันธสัญญาซึ่งเขาได้กระทำต่อหน้าเรานั้น เป็นดังลูกวัวที่เขาตัดออกเป็นสองท่อน และเดินผ่านกลางท่อนเหล่านั้นไป
19the princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, who passed between the parts of the calf;
19เจ้านายแห่งยูดาห์ก็ดี เจ้านายแห่งกรุงเยรูซาเล็มก็ดี ขันทีก็ดี ปุโรหิตและบรรดาประชาชนแห่งแผ่นดินนั้นก็ดี ผู้ผ่านระหว่างท่อนลูกวัวนั้น
20I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life; and their dead bodies shall be for food to the birds of the sky, and to the animals of the earth.
20เราจะมอบเขาไว้ในมือศัตรูของเขา และในมือของบรรดาผู้ที่แสวงหาชีวิตของเขา ศพของเขาจะเป็นอาหารของนกในอากาศและของสัตว์ในแผ่นดินโลก
21Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army, who have gone away from you.
21ส่วนเศเดคียาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์และเจ้านายทั้งหลายของเขานั้น เราจะมอบไว้ในมือศัตรูของเขา และในมือของบรรดาผู้ที่แสวงหาชีวิตของเขา ในมือของกองทัพแห่งกษัตริย์บาบิโลนซึ่งได้ถอยไปจากเจ้าแล้วนั้น
22Behold, I will command, says Yahweh, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.
22พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า ดูเถิด เราจะบัญชาและจะกระทำให้เขากลับมายังกรุงนี้ และเขาจะสู้รบกับกรุงนี้ และยึดเอาจนได้ และเผาเสียด้วยไฟ เราจะกระทำให้หัวเมืองยูดาห์เป็นที่รกร้างปราศจากคนอาศัย"
