¹The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying,

¹พระวจนะซึ่งมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ถึงเยเรมีย์ในรัชกาลเยโฮยาคิมราชบุตรชายของโยสิยาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ว่า

²Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and bring them into the house of Yahweh, into one of the rooms, and give them wine to drink.

²"จงไปหาวงศ์วานเรคาบและพูดกับเขา และนำเขามาที่พระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ เข้ามาในห้องเฉลียงห้องหนึ่ง แล้วเชิญให้เขาดื่มเหล้าองุ่น"

³Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;

³ดังนั้น ข้าพเจ้าจึงนำยาอาซันยาห์ บุตรชายเยเรมีย์ ผู้เป็นบุตรชายฮาบาซินยาห์และพี่น้องของเขา และบุตรชายของเขาทั้งหมด และวงศ์วานเรคาบทั้งหมด

⁴and I brought them into the house of Yahweh, into the room of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was by the room of the princes, which was above the room of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the threshold.

⁴ข้าพเจ้านำเขามายังพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ มาในห้องเฉลียงของบุตรชายของฮานัน ผู้เป็นบุตรชายอิกดาลิยาห์ ผู้เป็นคนของพระเจ้า ซึ่งอยู่ใกล้กับห้องเฉลียงของเจ้านาย เหนือห้องเฉลียงของมาอาเสอาห์บุตรชายชัลลูม ผู้ดูแลธรณีประตู

⁵I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls full of wine, and cups; and I said to them, Drink wine!

⁵แล้วข้าพเจ้าก็วางเหยือกเหล้าองุ่นกับถ้วยหลายลูกไว้หน้าเหล่าบุตรชายแห่งวงศ์วานเรคาบ และข้าพเจ้าพูดกับเขาทั้งหลายว่า "เชิญดื่มเหล้าองุ่น"

⁶But they said, We will drink no wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, You shall drink no wine, neither you, nor your sons, forever:

⁶แต่เขาทั้งหลายตอบว่า "เราจะไม่ดื่มเหล้าองุ่น เพราะโยนาดับบุตรชายเรคาบผู้เป็นบิดาของเราบัญชาเราว่า `เจ้าทั้งหลายอย่าดื่มเหล้าองุ่น ทั้งตัวเจ้าและลูกหลานของเจ้าเป็นนิตย์

⁷neither shall you build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any; but all your days you shall dwell in tents; that you may live many days in the land in which you live.

⁷เจ้าอย่าสร้างเรือน เจ้าอย่าหว่านพืช เจ้าอย่าปลูกหรือมีสวนองุ่น และเจ้าจงอยู่ในเต็นท์ตลอดชีวิตของเจ้า เพื่อเจ้าจะมีชีวิตยืนนานในแผ่นดินซึ่งเจ้าอาศัยอยู่'

⁸We have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he commanded us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, or our daughters;

⁸เราทั้งหลายได้เชื่อฟังเสียงของโยนาดับบุตรชายเรคาบผู้เป็นบิดาของเราในสิงทั้งปวงซึ่งท่านได้บัญชาเรา คือไม่ดื่มเหล้าองุ่นตลอดชีวิตของเรา ทั้งตัวเรา ภรรยา บุตรชาย บุตรสาวของเรา

⁹nor to build houses for us to dwell in; neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:

⁹และไม่สร้างเรือนเพื่อจะอาศัยอยู่ เราไม่มีสวนองุ่นหรือนาหรือพืช

¹⁰but we have lived in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

¹⁰แต่เราเคยอยู่ในเต็นท์ และได้เชื่อฟังและกระทำทุกสิ่งซึ่งโยนาดับบิดาของเราได้บัญชาเราไว้

¹¹But it happened, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians; so we dwell at Jerusalem.

¹¹แต่ต่อมาเมื่อเนบูคัดเนสซาร์กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนได้ยกมาต่อสู้กับแผ่นดินนี้ เราพูดว่า `มาเถิด ให้เราไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็มเพราะกลัวกองทัพคนเคลเดีย และเพราะกลัวกองทัพคนซีเรีย' ดังนั้นเราจึงอยู่ในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม"

¹²Then came the word of Yahweh to Jeremiah, saying,

¹²แล้วพระวจนะแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์จึงมาถึงเยเรมีย์ว่า

¹³Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Go, and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction to listen to my words? says Yahweh.

¹³"พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาพระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลตรัสดังนี้ว่า จงไปบอกบรรดาผู้ชายของยูดาห์ และบอกชาวกรุงเยรูซาเล็มว่า พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เจ้าจะไม่รับคำสั่งสอนเพื่อจะเชื่อฟังถ้อยคำของเราหรือ

¹⁴The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed; and to this day they drink none, for they obey their father’s commandment: but I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; and you have not listened to me.

¹⁴คำบัญชาซึ่งโยนาดับบุตรชายเรคาบให้ไว้แก่บุตรชายทั้งหลายของตน ไม่ให้ดื่มเหล้าองุ่นนั้น เขาก็ได้รักษากันไว้แล้ว และเขาทั้งหลายมิได้ดื่มเลยจนถึงวันนี้ เพราะเขาทั้งหลายได้เชื่อฟังคำบัญชาแห่งบิดาของเขา แต่เราได้พูดกับพวกเจ้าอย่างไม่หยุดยั้ง แต่เจ้าทั้งหลายหาได้ฟังเราไม่

¹⁵I have sent also to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and don’t go after other gods to serve them, and you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but you have not inclined your ear, nor listened to me.

¹⁵เราได้ส่งบรรดาผู้รับใช้ของเราคือผู้พยากรณ์มาหาเจ้า ส่งเขามาอย่างไม่หยุดยั้ง กล่าวว่า `บัดนี้เจ้าทุกคนจงหันกลับจากทางชั่วของตน และแก้ไขการกระทำของเจ้าทั้งหลายเสีย อย่าไปติดสอยห้อยตามพระอื่นเพื่อปรนนิบัติพระเหล่านั้น แล้วเจ้าจะได้อาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งเราได้ประทานแก่เจ้าและบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า' แต่เจ้ามิได้เงี่ยหูหรือเชื่อฟังเรา

¹⁶Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them, but this people has not listened to me;

¹⁶บุตรชายทั้งหลายของโยนาดับบุตรชายของเรคาบได้กระทำตามคำบัญชาซึ่งบิดาของเขาได้สั่งไว้ แต่ชนชาตินี้ไม่ได้เชื่อฟังเรา

¹⁷therefore thus says Yahweh, the God of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken to them, but they have not heard; and I have called to them, but they have not answered.

¹⁷เหตุฉะนี้พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าจอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราจะนำความร้ายทั้งสิ้นซึ่งเราประกาศไว้มาเหนือยูดาห์ และบรรดาชาวกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม เพราะว่าเราพูดกับเขาทั้งหลายและเขาก็ไม่ฟัง เราได้เรียกเขาและเขาไม่ขานตอบ"

¹⁸Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all that he commanded you;

¹⁸แต่เยเรมีย์ได้พูดกับวงศ์วานเรคาบว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ตรัสดังนี้ว่า เพราะว่าเจ้าได้เชื่อฟังคำบัญชาของโยนาดับบิดาของเจ้า และถือรักษาข้อบังคับของท่านทั้งสิ้น และกระทำทุกอย่างที่ท่านบัญชาเจ้า

¹⁹therefore thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me forever.

¹⁹เพราะฉะนั้น พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ตรัสดังนี้ว่า โยนาดับบุตรชายเรคาบจะไม่ขัดสนผู้ชายที่ยืนอยู่ต่อหน้าเราเลยเป็นนิตย์"
