¹Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the Good News of God,

¹เปาโล ผู้รับใช้ของพระเยซูคริสต์ ผู้ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงเรียกให้เป็นอัครสาวก และได้ถูกแยกตั้งไว้สำหรับข่าวประเสริฐของพระเจ้า

²which he promised before through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,

²(คือข่าวประเสริฐที่พระองค์ได้ทรงสัญญาไว้ล่วงหน้าโดยพวกศาสดาพยากรณ์ของพระองค์ในพระคัมภีร์อันบริสุทธิ์)

³concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,

³เกี่ยวกับพระบุตรของพระองค์ คือพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา ผู้บังเกิดในเชื้อสายของดาวิดฝ่ายเนื้อหนัง

⁴who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,

⁴แต่ฝ่ายพระวิญญาณแห่งความบริสุทธิ์นั้นบ่งไว้ด้วยฤทธานุภาพ คือโดยการเป็นขึ้นมาจากความตายว่า เป็นพระบุตรของพระเจ้า

⁵through whom we received grace and apostleship, for obedience of faith among all the nations, for his name’s sake;

⁵โดยทางพระองค์นั้นพวกข้าพเจ้าได้รับพระคุณและหน้าที่เป็นอัครสาวก เพื่อเห็นแก่พระนามของพระองค์ ให้ชนชาติต่างๆเชื่อฟังตามความเชื่อนั้น

⁶among whom you are also called to belong to Jesus Christ;

⁶รวมทั้งพวกท่านที่พระเจ้าทรงเรียกให้เป็นคนของพระเยซูคริสต์ด้วย

⁷to all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁷เรียน บรรดาท่านที่อยู่ในกรุงโรม ผู้ซึ่งพระเจ้าทรงรักและทรงเรียกให้เป็นวิสุทธิชน ขอพระคุณและสันติสุขซึ่งมาจากพระเจ้าพระบิดาของเราทั้งหลาย และจากพระเยซูคริสต์เจ้า จงดำรงอยู่กับพวกท่านเถิด

⁸First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, that your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.

⁸ประการแรก ข้าพเจ้าขอขอบพระคุณพระเจ้าของข้าพเจ้าโดยทางพระเยซูคริสต์เหตุด้วยท่านทั้งหลาย เพราะว่าความเชื่อของพวกท่านเลื่องลือไปทั่วโลก

⁹For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers,

⁹เพราะพระเจ้าผู้ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้รับใช้ด้วยชีวิตจิตใจของข้าพเจ้าในข่าวประเสริฐแห่งพระบุตรของพระองค์นั้น ทรงเป็นพยานของข้าพเจ้าว่า เมื่อข้าพเจ้าอธิษฐานนั้น ข้าพเจ้าเอ่ยถึงท่านทั้งหลายเสมอไม่ว่างเว้น

¹⁰requesting, if by any means now at last I may be prospered by the will of God to come to you.

¹⁰ข้าพเจ้าทูลขอว่า ถ้าเป็นที่พอพระทัยพระเจ้าแล้วให้ข้าพเจ้าได้มีโอกาสไปเยี่ยมท่านทั้งหลาย โดยอย่างหนึ่งอย่างใดในที่สุดนี้

¹¹For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established;

¹¹เพราะข้าพเจ้าปรารถนาที่จะได้พบท่านทั้งหลาย เพื่อจะได้นำของประทานฝ่ายจิตวิญญาณมาให้แก่ท่านบ้าง เพื่อเสริมกำลังท่านทั้งหลาย

¹²that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.

¹²คือเพื่อข้าพเจ้าและท่านทั้งหลายจะได้หนุนใจซึ่งกันและกัน โดยความเชื่อของเราทั้งสอฝ่าย

¹³Now I don’t desire to have you unaware, brothers, that I often planned to come to you, and was hindered so far, that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among the rest of the Gentiles.

¹³พี่น้องทั้งหลาย บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้าอยากให้ท่านทั้งหลายทราบว่า ข้าพเจ้าได้ตั้งใจไว้หลายครั้งแล้วว่าจะมาหาท่าน เพื่อข้าพเจ้าจะได้เก็บเกี่ยวผลในหมู่พวกท่านด้วย เช่นเดียวกับในหมู่ชนชาติอื่นๆ (แต่จนบัดนี้ก็ยังมีเหตุขัดข้องอยู่)

¹⁴I am debtor both to Greeks and to foreigners, both to the wise and to the foolish.

¹⁴ข้าพเจ้าเป็นหนี้ทั้งพวกกรีกและพวกชาวป่าด้วย เป็นหนี้ทั้งพวกนักปราชญ์และคนเขลาด้วย

¹⁵So, as much as is in me, I am eager to preach the Good News to you also who are in Rome.

¹⁵ฉะนั้นข้าพเจ้าก็เต็มใจพร้อมที่จะประกาศข่าวประเสริฐแก่ท่านทั้งหลายที่อยู่ในกรุงโรมด้วย

¹⁶For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.

¹⁶ด้วยว่าข้าพเจ้าไม่มีความละอายในเรื่องข่าวประเสริฐของพระคริสต์ เพราะว่าข่าวประเสริฐนั้นเป็นฤทธิ์เดชของพระเจ้า เพื่อให้ทุกคนที่เชื่อได้รับความรอด พวกยิวก่อน และพวกกรีกด้วย

¹⁷For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.” Habakkuk 2:4

¹⁷เพราะว่าในข่าวประเสริฐนั้นความชอบธรรมของพระเจ้าก็ได้แสดงออก โดยเริ่มต้นก็ความเชื่อ สุดท้ายก็ความเชื่อ ตามที่มีเขียนไว้แล้วว่า `คนชอบธรรมจะมีชีวิตดำรงอยู่โดยความเชื่อ'

¹⁸For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

¹⁸เพราะว่า พระเจ้าทรงสำแดงพระพิโรธของพระองค์จากสวรรค์ต่อความอธรรมและความไม่ชอบธรรมทั้งมวลของมนุษย์ ที่เอาความไม่ชอบธรรมนั้นขัดขวางความจริง

¹⁹because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them.

¹⁹เหตุว่าเท่าที่จะรู้จักพระเจ้าได้ก็แจ้งอยู่กับใจเขาทั้งหลาย เพราะว่าพระเจ้าได้ทรงโปรดสำแดงแก่เขาแล้ว

²⁰For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse.

²⁰ตั้งแต่เริ่มสร้างโลกมาแล้ว สภาพที่ไม่ปรากฏของพระองค์นั้น คือฤทธานุภาพอันนิรันดร์และเทวสภาพของพระเจ้า ก็ได้ปรากฏชัดในสรรพสิ่งที่พระองค์ได้ทรงสร้าง ฉะนั้นเขาทั้งหลายจึงไม่มีข้อแก้ตัวเลย

²¹Because, knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.

²¹เพราะถึงแม้ว่าเขาทั้งหลายได้รู้จักพระเจ้าแล้ว เขาก็มิได้ถวายพระเกียรติแด่พระองค์ให้สมกับที่ทรงเป็นพระเจ้า หรือหาได้ขอบพระคุณไม่ แต่เขากลับคิดในสิ่งที่ไม่เป็นสาระ และจิตใจโง่เขลาของเขาก็มืดมัวไป

²²Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

²²เขาอ้างตัวว่าเป็นคนมีปัญญา เขาจึงกลายเป็นคนโง่เขลาไป

²³and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.

²³และเขาได้เอาสง่าราศีของพระเจ้าผู้เป็นอมตะ มาแลกกับรูปมนุษย์ที่ต้องตายหรือรูปนก รูปสัตว์จตุบาท และรูปสัตว์เลื้อยคลาน

²⁴Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves,

²⁴เหตุฉะนั้น พระเจ้าจึงทรงปล่อยเขาให้ประพฤติอุลามกตามราคะตัณหาในใจของเขา ให้เขากระทำสิ่งซึ่งน่าอัปยศทางกายต่อกัน

²⁵who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

²⁵เพราะว่าเขาได้เอาความจริงเรื่องพระเจ้ามาแลกกับความเท็จ และได้นมัสการและปรนนิบัติสิ่งที่พระองค์ได้ทรงสร้างไว้แทนพระองค์ผู้ทรงสร้าง ผู้สมจะได้รับความสรรเสริญเป็นนิตย์ เอเมน

²⁶For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature.

²⁶เพราะเหตุนี้พระเจ้าจึงทรงปล่อยให้เขามีราคะตัณหาอันน่าอัปยศ แม้แต่พวกผู้หญิงของเขาก็เปลี่ยนจากการสัมพันธ์ตามธรรมชาติ ให้ผิดธรรมชาติไป

²⁷Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.

²⁷ฝ่ายผู้ชายก็เลิกการสัมพันธ์กับผู้หญิงให้ถูกตามธรรมชาติเช่นกัน และเร่าร้อนด้วยไฟแห่งราคะตัณหาที่มีต่อกัน ผู้ชายกับผู้ชายด้วยกันประกอบกิจอันชั่วช้าอย่างน่าละอาย เขาจึงได้รับผลกรรมอันสมควรแก่ความผิดของเขา

²⁸Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

²⁸และเพราะเขาไม่เห็นชอบที่จะรู้จักพระเจ้า พระเจ้าจึงทรงปล่อยให้เขามีใจเลวทรามและประพฤติสิ่งที่ไม่เหมาะสม

²⁹being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers,

²⁹พวกเขาเต็มไปด้วยสรรพการอธรรม การล่วงประเวณี ความชั่วร้าย ความโลภ ความมุ่งร้าย เต็มไปด้วยความอิจฉาริษยา การฆ่าฟัน การวิวาท การล่อลวง การคิดร้าย พูดนินทา

³⁰backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

³⁰ส่อเสียด เกลียดชังพระเจ้า หยาบคาย จองหอง อวดตัว ริทำชั่วอย่างใหม่ ไม่เชื่อฟังบิดามารดา

³¹without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;

³¹อปัญญา ไม่รักษาคำสัญญา ไม่มีความรักกัน ไม่ยอมคืนดีกัน ปราศจากความเมตตา

³²who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.

³²แม้เขาจะรู้การพิพากษาของพระเจ้าที่ว่าคนทั้งปวงที่ประพฤติเช่นนั้นสมควรจะตาย เขาก็ไม่เพียงประพฤติเท่านั้น แต่ยังเห็นดีกับคนอื่นที่ประพฤติเช่นนั้นด้วย
