Wolof: New Testament

Young`s Literal Translation

1 Timothy

4

1 Xelum Yàlla mi wax na bu leer ne, ci mujug jamono dina am ñu bàyyi yoonu ngëm wi, di topp ay xel yuy fàbbee ak xalaati Seytaane.
1And the Spirit expressly speaketh, that in latter times shall certain fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons,
2 Ñooñu ay naaféq yuy naxe lañu, te seen xol dërkiis.
2in hypocrisy speaking lies, being seared in their own conscience,
3 Dinañu tere séy, di araamal ay ñam, fekk Yàlla sàkk na leen, ngir ñi gëm te xam dëgg man ciy jëfandiku ak cant.
3forbidding to marry — to abstain from meats that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those believing and acknowledging the truth,
4 Ndaxte li Yàlla sàkk lépp baax na, kon wenn ñam araamul ci ku koy jëfandikoo ak cant.
4because every creature of God [is] good, and nothing [is] to be rejected, with thanksgiving being received,
5 Ndaxte kàddug Yàlla ak ñaan ñoo koy sellal.
5for it is sanctified through the word of God and intercession.
6 Saxal ci digal bokk yi loolu nag, kon dinga nekk jawriñu Kirist Yeesu ju baax ju regg ci kàdduy yoonu ngëm wi ak njàngale mu rafet, mi nga xam bu wér.
6These things placing before the brethren, thou shalt be a good ministrant of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of the faith, and of the good teaching, which thou didst follow after,
7 Tanqamlul ay léebi diiney neen, di ay wax yu amul bopp yu àddina kese; waaye tàggatal sa bopp ci ragal Yàlla.
7and the profane and old women`s fables reject thou, and exercise thyself unto piety,
8 Ndaxte tàggat yaram am na fu njariñam yem, waaye njariñu ragal Yàlla dafa daj lépp, ëmb digey àddina ak àllaaxira.
8for the bodily exercise is unto little profit, and the piety is to all things profitable, a promise having of the life that now is, and of that which is coming;
9 Wax ju wóor a ngii, te mat a nangu ak gépp kóolute.
9stedfast [is] the word, and of all acceptation worthy;
10 Danuy ñaq tey bëre, ndaxte wékk nanu sunu yaakaar ci Yàlla Aji Dund ji, di Musalkatu ñépp, rawatina nag ci ñi gëm.
10for for this we both labour and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Saviour of all men — especially of those believing.
11 Digal leen yëf yooyu nag ci sa njàngale.
11Charge these things, and teach;
12 Bu la kenn xeeb ndax say at, waaye defal sa bopp royukaayu ñi gëm ci say wax ak say jëf, ci sa mbëggeel, sa ngëm ak sa cell.
12let no one despise thy youth, but a pattern become thou of those believing in word, in behaviour, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity;
13 Li feek may dikk, saxal ci jàng di biral Mbind mi ci mbooloo mi, di leen dénk ak a jàngal.
13till I come, give heed to the reading, to the exhortation, to the teaching;
14 Bul sàggane may gi nekk ci yaw, gi la Yàlla jox jaarale ko ci waxu yonent, keroog bi la njiit yi tegee loxo.
14be not careless of the gift in thee, that was given thee through prophecy, with laying on of the hands of the eldership;
15 Faaydaalal yëf yooyu te sóobu ci, ba sa jëm kanam bir ñépp.
15of these things be careful; in these things be, that thy advancement may be manifest in all things;
16 Sàmmal sa bopp te sàmm sa njàngale, te sax ci; noonu dinga musal sa bopp, yaw ak ñi lay déglu.
16take heed to thyself, and to the teaching; remain in them, for this thing doing, both thyself thou shalt save, and those hearing thee.
