1 Man nag fas yéene naa lii: duma dellusi ci yéen ci naqar.
1But I have judged this with myself, not to come back to you in grief.
2 Ndaxte su ma leen tegee naqar, kuy seddal sama xol ku dul yéen ñi ma teg aw naqar?
2For if *I* grieve you, who also [is] it that gladdens me, if not he that is grieved through me?
3 Looloo tax ma binde noonu, ngir bañ a agsi, am naqar ci ñi ma waroon a bégal. Am naa kóolute ci yéen ñépp ne, sama mbég mooy seen mbég.
3And I have written this very [letter] [to you], that coming I may not have grief from those from whom I ought to have joy; trusting in you all that my joy is [that] of you all.
4 Ci biir tiis ak xol bu jeex laa leen bind, samay bët taa ak ay rangooñ. Binduma leen ngir teg leen naqar, waaye ngir ngeen xam xóotaayu mbëggeel gi ma am ci yéen.
4For out of much tribulation and distress of heart I wrote to you, with many tears; not that ye may be grieved, but that ye may know the love which I have very abundantly towards you.
5 Su kenn tegee moroomam naqar, du man la ko teg, waaye man nanu ne, yéen ñépp la ko teg — matul may réyal mbir mi.
5But if any one has grieved, he has grieved, not me, but in part (that I may not overcharge [you]) all of you.
6 Àtte bi ko mbooloo mi teg, doy na.
6Sufficient to such a one [is] this rebuke which [has been inflicted] by the many;
7 Léegi nag baal-leen ko te dëfël xolam, ngir bañ mu sóobu ci naqar wu ëpp.
7so that on the contrary ye should rather shew grace and encourage, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with excessive grief.
8 Kon maa ngi leen di ñaan, ngeen feddali seen mbëggeel ci moom.
8Wherefore I exhort you to assure him of [your] love.
9 Nattu leen moo tax ma bind leen it, ngir seet ba xam dingeen dégg ndigal ci lépp.
9For to this end also I have written, that I might know, by putting you to the test, if as to everything ye are obedient.
10 Ku ngeen baal, ma baal ko itam. Man nag, su ma baalee --fekk am lu ma war a baale — yéena tax ma def ko ci kanamu Kirist,
10But to whom ye forgive anything, *I* also; for I also, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, [it is] for your sakes in [the] person of Christ;
11 ngir Seytaane bañ a am bunt bu mu jaar ba nax nu, ndaxte réerewunu mbir ay pexeem.
11that we might not have Satan get an advantage against us, for we are not ignorant of *his* thoughts.
12 Ba ma àggee Torowas nag, ngir yégle fa xebaar bu baax bi ci Kirist, Boroom bi ubbil na ma ci bunt.
12Now when I came to Troas for the [publication of the] glad tidings of the Christ, a door also being opened to me in [the] Lord,
13 Waaye sama xel dalul benn yoon, ndax li ma fa fekkul sama mbokk, Tit. Noonu nag ma tàggu leen, daldi dem diiwaanu Maseduwan.
13I had no rest in my spirit at not finding Titus my brother; but bidding them adieu, I came away to Macedonia.
14 Waaye cant ñeel na Yàlla! Ci sunu booloo ak Kirist, daf nuy yóbbaale saa su nekk ci gawari ndamam, tey jaar ci nun ngir turu Kirist jolli fu nekk, ni xetu latkoloñ di tasaaroo.
14But thanks [be] to God, who always leads us in triumph in the Christ, and makes manifest the odour of his knowledge through us in every place.
15 Ndaxte ci Yàlla, xetu Kirist gu neex lanu, di gilli jëm ci ñiy mucc ak ñiy sànku;
15For we are a sweet odour of Christ to God, in the saved and in those that perish:
16 ci ñu mujj ñii, xet gu sedd lanu, guy jëme ci dee; ci ñu jëkk ñi, xetu dund lanu, guy jëme ci dund. Kon ku man a àttan yen boobu!
16to the one an odour from death unto death, but to the others an odour from life unto life; and who [is] sufficient for these things?
17 Nun nag melunu ni ñu bare, ñiy baana-baana ci kàddug Yàlla, waaye ci sunu booloo ak Kirist, nu ngi waare ak xol bu laab fa kanam Yàlla, ni yonenti Yàlla.
17For we do not, as the many, make a trade of the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God, before God, we speak in Christ.
